Couple attacked over T-shirt for Israeli hostages in Germany

A couple was assaulted by a Muslim suspect in Heidelberg, Germany, in late August when the attacker tried to tear off the “Bring them home now” T-shirt of the woman.

The couple was assaulted on Monday evening by a 29-year-old Muslim man while walking on the streets in Heidelberg. The suspect was arrested three days later, on September 5, and told the police that he was “bothered” by the woman’s “Bring them home now” T-shirt, reports the JNS.

The attacker grabbed the woman by the T-shirt, demanding she take it off, lightly injuring her. When her husband tried to help, the attacker punched him several times in the face, reportedly knocking out a tooth before fleeing the scene.

The attacker later posted about the incident on Instagram and was arrested on Thursday evening in a nearby city. He is a German national of Lebanese parents.

He remained under arrest during the weekend after failing to post a 10,000 EUR bail.

An Israeli woman had previously gotten a restraining order against the suspect after he sold drugs to clientele in her restaurant, refused to pay for services and became aggressive towards her.

“He got more aggressive, threatened me and called me a ‘dirty Jew,’” she said.
