A graffiti reading „Escalate for Palestine, everyone” was spray painted on the Monument to the Righteous of Belgium.
Unknown perpetrators defaced a Holocaust memorial in Brussels, erected in memory of non-Jews who worked to rescue Jewish people from the Nazi genocide campaign, reports The Jerusalem Post.
The anti-Israel messages on spray painted on the the Monument to the Righteous of Belgium read “Escalate for Palestine, everyone.”
The European Jewish Congress said on Saturday “This outrageous disrespect of Shoah victims doesn’t advance the Palestinian cause. It is simply unacceptable.”
Belgian League Against Antisemitism vice-president Odile Margaux noted that the vandalism occurred a few days after the defacement of a plaque dedicated to Belgian resistance fighters who attacked a convoy to Auschwitz.
The plaque was spray painted with a white swastika and the white nationalist version of the Celtic Cross.
