The European Jewish Association (EJA) held its Auschwitz delegation – Kristallnacht event between November 7-8 in Poland.
The European Jewish Association (EJA), an organisation which represents Jewish communities across Europe, holds an event annually on the anniversary of Kristallnacht to commemorate those who lost their lives during the Holocaust, and to bring together political personalities and Jewish leaders from across Europe and abroad to Krakow for a symposium around the importance of education in combating antisemitism, which is followed by a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau former death camps.
This year, during the EJA Auschwitz delegation 2022 Symposium, political leaders exchanged views on measures to combat antisemitism and challenges going forward.
Moreover, after the visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Camps to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola was on Monday presented with the King David Award from the European Jewish Association (EJA) in recognition of her support to the Jewish community in Europe.
Metsola pledged to honour the legacy of the Holocaust victims “by never forgetting, by never being indifferent, and by always, always speaking up”.
