Hamas protesters were arrested in Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands on suspicion of preparing antisemitic attacks on behalf of the terrorist organisation.
Three people have been arrested in Germany and Denmark, along with one further person in the Netherlands, on suspicion of preparing antisemitic attacks on behalf of the Hamas terrorist organisation. According to Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the threat is as severe as possible. German prosecutors say the suspects were planning to attack Jewish sites.
Dutch police have detained a 57-year-old Dutch citizen as part of an investigation in Germany. The three suspects arrested in Berlin were of Lebanese and Egyptian nationality. Danish Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard said the case confirmed that Danish Jews were in danger. The Danish secret service says the plot is linked to the war in Gaza between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organisation and the burning of Korans in Denmark and Sweden.
