Jerusalem Conference on Combating Antisemitism to be attended by the Action and Protection Foundation

The Action and Protection Foundation (APF) has been invited to participate in the large international conference on combating antisemitism, to be held in Jerusalem from 26 to 27 March.

The meeting was initiated by Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs, Amichai Chikli, who is working to strengthen Israel’s relations, including with European radical right-wing parties, which Israel has long boycotted because of their past links to antisemitism.

The conference will be attended by Yichak Herzog, President of the State of Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Argentine President Javier Milei, Jonathan Greenblatt, head of the Anti-Defamation League, and American author and evangelist preacher Mike Evans.

The Action and Protection Foundation will also be present at the Jerusalem meeting. TEV Secretary Kálmán Szalai said, „The fight against antisemitism must be above politics and political differences. It is not a matter of different political sides since it is in the interest of all decision-makers across the political spectrum to stand together and take a united stand against hatred of Jews. Any attempt to make it exclusively a matter for one political side will significantly damage the overarching effort.”

Kálmán Szalai emphasised that all politicians invited to the conference are unequivocal in their support for Israel, for the Jewish state’s right to self-defence, and are committed to zero tolerance of antisemitism and religious freedom for Jewish communities in Europe.

„We look forward to such statements from all political leaders and hope that this strong stance will inspire further decision-makers to make a clear commitment to fight antisemitism and protect Jewish communities.”

At the same time, the European Jewish Congress (EJC) accused Amichai Chikli of inviting „far-right” figures to the summit. Dr Ariel Muzicant, President of the EJC, said in a letter to the Jerusalem Post that they had been fighting antisemitism, Holocaust denial and the aftermath of the Shoah for 80 years and that in this struggle, the European far-right parties were their greatest opponents.
