Kanye West named ‘Antisemite of the Year’

The rapper Kanye West has received the dubious ‘honour’ of being named ‘Antisemite of the year’ by the watchdog group StopAntisemitism, which has been running the contest for four years.

The watchdog group StopAntisemitism has given the unflattering title of ‘Antisemite of the Year’ to Kanye West, commonly known as Ye. The announcement was made on Sunday night, December 11, on Twitter.

„Kanye uses his celebrity platform to push dangerous antisemitic tropes about Jews and power, and he refuses to stop. His continuous onslaught of bigoted statements has resulted in horrific antisemitic acts perpetrated by white supremacists, Black Hebrew Israelites, and other fringe groups looking to cause Jews harm,” said Liora Rez, Executive Director of StopAntisemitism.

As a matter of fact, Kanye West pretty much begged to win the dishonourable title; his antisemitic rampage began with his tweet, claiming he was going to go „Death Con 3” on Jews, followed by a slew of antisemitic rants on Twitter. His tweet was shortly followed by a group of people hanging a „Kanye is right about the Jews” billboard over an L.A. freeway.

Although Adidas, Balenciaga and other firms have severed ties with the performer, he admitted to Piers Morgan that he solely desired harm to Jews who had wronged him in music and business dealings. Finally, West made his statements about loving Hitler, disputing some aspects of the Holocaust, and requesting that Nazis be despised less when things heated up last week on Alex Jones’ „Infowars” show.

Upon announcing the winner, StopAntisemitism said: „Kanye West’s threats of violence, hateful conduct, and hate speech all led him to win this year’s title.”
