Neo-Nazis reportedly vandalised Jewish graves in Tasmania, Australia, in November 2021.
The white supremacists reportedly put „white force” stickers on Jewish tombstones in a cemetery in Tasmania, Australia. According to the American Jewish News, the stickers were placed on the graves on November 9, the 83rd anniversary of Kristallnacht, „the Night of Broken Glass.”
On November 9, 1938, synagogues and Jewish businesses were vandalised and destroyed throughout Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia by Nazi forces and civilians.
The Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), a Jewish-Australian community organisation founded to combat antisemitism, condemned the destruction in the cemetery, saying, „This repulsive desecration of the dead is a hate crime, pure and simple.”
To combat antisemitism, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that the country would formally endorse the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism. Morrison officially announced this at the Malmö International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism in October.
