Neo-Nazis reportedly vandalised Jewish graves in Tasmania, Australia earlier in November, 2021.
The white supremacists reportedly put „white force” stickers on Jewish tombstones in a cemetery in Tasmania, Australia. According to the American Jewish News, the stickers were placed on the graves on November 9, on the 83rd anniversary of Kristallnacht, „the Night of Broken Glass.”
On the night of November 9, 1938, synagogues and Jewish businesses were vandalised and destroyed throughout Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia by Nazi forces and civilians.
The Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC), a Jewish-Australian community organisation founded to combat antisemitism condemned the destruction in the cemetary, saying that „This repulsive desecration of the dead is a hate crime, pure and simple.”
In order to combat antisemitism, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that the country will formally endorse the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism. This was officially announced at the Malmö International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism by Morrison in October.
