Tel Aviv stabbing leaves six injured, including an American tourist

Several people were wounded in a terrorist stabbing in Tel Aviv, with Ichilov Hospital confirming on Wednesday that two new admissions brought the total number of injured to six.

Three have already been discharged, while one remains in serious condition after neck surgery and is said to be recovering well, reports the Jewish News Syndicate.

Among those harmed was an American tourist, attacked after the assailant had already stabbed four Israelis, including an IDF officer who had previously lost his right arm in combat against Hamas. Two soldiers from the elite Shaldag unit intervened and neutralised the attacker. One soldier described the incident, “We came down from the house and saw him assaulting a civilian. We shouted for him to stop and fired four shots when he refused.”

The assailant, identified as 29-year-old Moroccan national Kaddi Abdelaziz—who held permanent U.S. residency—had entered Israel three days earlier. Although border inspectors initially flagged him as suspicious, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) later approved his entry following additional checks. The Shin Bet has launched an investigation, stating, “The subject underwent a comprehensive security assessment, including questioning and other checks. It was concluded there was no justification to deny entry. The case will be thoroughly reviewed.” Reports indicate that Abdelaziz had posted anti-Israel content on Facebook prior to the attack.
