Swastikas Painted After Repeated Vandalism at Michigan State Jewish Centre

The Chabad Jewish Centre at Michigan State University has been targeted in two consecutive nights of antisemitic vandalism, prompting a police investigation into a suspected hate crime. The incidents involved property damage and Nazi symbolism, raising concerns about Jewish safety on campus, reports Israel National News.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the first attack occurred on Tuesday night when an unknown individual threw large stones at the centre’s windows and door. Although the reinforced glass did not shatter, the impact caused visible damage. The incident was recorded on video.

The following night, the same individual is believed to have returned and spray-painted swastikas on the building’s doors, along with the message “he’s back.” Chabad representatives confirmed that the offensive graffiti has since been removed.

Local police are investigating the incidents as hate crimes. No arrests have been made so far, and authorities have not identified any suspects.

The back-to-back nature of the attacks and the use of Nazi symbols have heightened concern among Jewish students and community members, reflecting a broader pattern of antisemitic intimidation directed at Jewish institutions in the United States.
